Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) | Care Card
  • What is Carecard?

Carecard is a free prescription savings service and discount card that can save you up to 85% on medications at most major pharmacies. Carecard is always free to use and works whether you have insurance or not, because we believe everyone should have access to the lowest prices available for their medications. Carecard works at 35,000+ pharmacies in the United States, including CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, Albertsons, Kroger, Wegmans and more!
  • What can I use this for?

All FDA - approved prescription medications. Discounts vary by medication and by the pharmacy you purchase from. Carecard works at virtually every U.S pharmacy and in most cases will reduce the cost of prescriptions. We often beat the price of an insurance copay. A quick, 10 second search on our mobile app could save you hundreds.
  • How do I use this?

It’s simple. Just show your Carecard app or coupon card to your pharmacist every time you fill a prescription. There are lots of ways to obtain your Carecard discount. You can request a card by mail, print, or directly on our mobile app. Carecard works directly with pharmacies to negotiate up to 85% off prescription prices. We pass these savings onto our members, free of charge.
  • What if I already have Insurance?

There are no exclusions for using Carecard. Even if you do have insurance, it's not uncommon for Carecard to be cheaper than a co-pay on your prescription, so we highly recommend comparing your insurance co-pay with the Carecard price before filling prescriptions. And this is true if you have commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or any other type of insurance. Please note the Carecard cannot be used in conjunction with insurance. To use Carecard, just let your pharmacy know that you’ll use a Carecard discount instead of your insurance when you pay for your prescription medication.
  • Can I use Carecard with my mail order prescriptions?

We offer prescription savings through a number of mail order companies. We recommend that you contact the mail order company you typically work with, present them with the information on your Carecard coupon card, and confirm with them directly if they offer a discount on your prescriptions.
  • Will this work for my family?

Yes! Since there’s no personal information tied to our cards, feel free to share them with anyone who is interested in saving money on prescription medications. It even works for your pet’s medication.
  • What Pharmacies accept Carecard?

Our prescription savings card is accepted at over 35,000 pharmacies nation-wide including: Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Duane Reade, Kroger, Albertsons and many more.
